Meet Mel – A brilliant Mali looking for her perfect match.  She has an active mind and a heart full of potential. She’s searching for an experienced Malinois home that understands the unique needs of this intelligent, driven breed. True to her breed, Mel thrives when she has a job to do. She loves using her brain and is happiest when she’s learning, training, and engaging with her people. Her training is ongoing, and she’s making lovely progress every day. She has shown a real flair for scent and trail work, thoroughly enjoying the chance to use her nose to problem-solve and track. She would likely excel in scent detection, tracking, and structured obedience training, where she can continue building focus, precision, and partnership with her handler.

Mel is a big fan of her ball — she absolutely loves a game of fetch and now reliably brings it back, ready for the next throw! Lead training is still a work in progress, so she’ll need a patient, confident handler who can continue developing her skills and provide clear, consistent guidance. Underneath her working-dog energy, Mel is sweet-natured and affectionate. She forms strong bonds and will be a loyal, devoted companion in the right home. She’s looking for experienced adopters who understand the commitment, mental stimulation, and ongoing training a Malinois needs to truly thrive. If you have experience with high-drive working breeds and are ready to invest time, training, and love into an exceptional dog, Mel could be your perfect partner. Could you be the home Mel has been waiting for?

All dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flead and microchipped.

Please fill in an Adoption Application if you feel you are able to offer this dog their perfect home!

If you are in rented accommodation you must have a letter stating permission to have a dog at the property. This must be ready before applying for a dog you would like.

Please DO NOT apply by phone.  When you put in an application form you will get an automated email to let you know we have received it (check your junk folder too).  We will contact you if your application is being considered.  Our volunteers do not have time to answer every email and phone call.
