Angel (aka Dirty Doris)

Angel was a bit of a poster dog here at Forest of Dean Dog Rescue for the three years she was with us.

Emma, who fostered her, had this to say:
"On 2 July 2022, the world gained an Angel.
Our little Angel, aka Dirty Doris, gained her wings after a very short illness. She was an amazing 17 years old.
As a long term foster of Forest of Dean Dog Rescue, Angel was entrusted to me as what we call a 'jelly and ice cream' dog.  You get to spoil them rotten for whatever time they have.  Well, that was 3 years ago.  Angel was the center of our world; she came everywhere and did everything.  Loved her walks, the beach, food and her favourite was flirting with the younger boys.  Her special place was cuddling with mum.  As a rescue, Angel was all of ours and anyone who met her fell in love.  I am so thrilled she got to have her 17th birthday with so many friends.
Angel had been kept outside, used for breeding and then was no longer wanted aged 14.  Shame on them, but what a 3 years she had.  Angel was truly cherished by us all, especially myself.  She was the princess she should always have been.
Thank you to the rescue for taking her. Fostering isn’t just a ‘job’ but our lives to cherish these dogs.  What a hole Angel has left. We are utterly heartbroken.  Fly high little one, you will be truly missed."
